Support — Yayu

Last updated: 1 October 2026

Yayu shows you one Chinese word a day, drawn as large as the screen allows.

Getting in touch

Email Yayu.daily.chinese@gmail.com.

From the app, Settings → Contact us opens a message to the same address, so there is nothing to copy out.

It helps to say which phone and which version of iOS or Android you are on. If it is about a particular word, send the word itself.

A few things worth knowing

It works without a signal. Everything you read — the word list, the calligraphy, the recordings — is inside the app. The adverts need a connection and simply do not appear without one.

There is no advert-free version yet. Yayu is free and carries adverts; there is no paid tier in this release.

Where the law requires your consent to adverts — the EEA and the UK — you are asked before any is requested, and you can change your answer later under Settings → Your advert choices. The row appears only where that choice applies, so you will not see it elsewhere.

If a definition or a reading looks wrong, please write and include the word. Both come from published sources, and a mistake in either is worth fixing properly.

Privacy

What Yayu sends, what it keeps on your phone, and why, is set out in the privacy policy.
